Joshua has spent the last 17 years building and running iconic lifestyle brands. Prior to entering the cannabis industry, he was the Creative Director and Partner at Proper Hospitality. He has also held global marketing and creative leadership roles at Levi Strauss and Quiksilver Inc. and served as a consultant for lifestyle brands including Reebok, Ben Sherman, Puma and Dreamworks Records.

PROPER

As Creative Director, Joshua Katz was responsible for developing, managing and growing the Proper Hospitality brands including Proper Hotels & Residences, Avalon Hotels and Custom Hotels. He oversaw all creative concepts and partnerships across multiple categories and deployed them throughout the company’s various properties. He also led Proper Hospitality’s information technology efforts as well as all direct-to-consumer marketing and communications activities.















Levi’s

As the Global Marketing Director at Levi’s, he headed up all brand and marketing activities for the Levi’s XX division, which included the three pinnacle brands: Levi’s Made and Crafted, Levi’s Vintage Clothing and Levi’s Red. He established and managed over fifteen global consumer engagement and energy businesses including Levi’s Commuter, Levi’s Skate, Levi’s Water<Less, Levi’s Capital E, Levi’s Made in the USA and Levi’s Best of Red Tab as well as collaborations with Nike, Supreme, Filson, Pendleton, Billy Reid, Opening Ceremony, Neighborhood, Stussy, Brooks Brother, Robert Geller and Obey. He was also the chief engineer for the company’s worldwide cultural engagement efforts, which included much-celebrated art, music and sports programs like the Levi’s Workshops (SF/NY/LA/Berlin/London), The Levi’s x Fader Fort at SXSW, The Levi’s Bike Shops, Vive Les Friends at Champs Elysees, the Haus of Strauss in Los Angeles and non-profit partnerships with Alice Waters’ Edible Schoolyards, Echo Park Film School and the LA Museum of Contemporary Art.






























Quiksilver

During his tenure at Quiksilver Inc. in Huntington Beach, Joshua served as the Marketing Director in charge of Public Relations, partnerships and emerging platforms. In this role, he was the chief spokesperson for the Quiksilver Brand and the manager of both corporate and brand communications programs. He headed up the company’s strategic partnership division which generated over $1M in annual revenues through innovative integrations with auto, electronics, music, TV, film and gaming companies. He was also the project lead for emerging platform and brand growth initiatives including the launch of Quiksilver Womens, Quiksilver Limited, QuikSilverEdition and Quiksilver EQPT. Throughout his time at Quiksilver, Joshua had the opportunity to lead projects and partnerships with world class lifestyle brands, events, media properties and athletes including Roxy, DC Shoes, Rossignol, Cleveland Golf, Toyota, JBL, Gibson, Activision, Chronicle Books, Vice Magazine, Spin Magazine, Tony Hawk, Kelly Slater, Travis Rice, X Games, ASP World Tour, Sundance, Coachella and SXSW.
